2012 pathfinder. Transmission immunity?

Postby Dswilly » Sun Oct 14, 2012 6:50 pm

All,

I'm looking a at a 012 Pathfinder Silver, new. It's priced right at the end of the year, drove it, love it. Then I found all this transmission/radiator info. Does anyone know if Nissan did a running fix for the problem? Or as you mentioned above in regards to 08's the part number is the same so it might happen but no one has put the miles on yet to find out. I'm worried since most failures are out of warranty and since the model is changing Nissan is choosing to just ride it out, giving tough love. Thanks for any info.

2012's aren't affected. Nissan extended the warranty for the 05-10 models because of the failure. So far the radiator failures appears to affect the 05 thru 07 models the most.

Thanks for the reply. I'm looking for evidence they fixed it. As far as I can tell the 010's thru 012's haven't been on the road long enough. Is there any evidence they fixed the problem? Service bulletin, part number change? Anything?

It's possible there may be a new Rad part number, please read this and take a look: http://www.thenissanpath.com/viewtopic.php?t=7881

Thanks for the link, that helps. At least it looks like they made an effort to stop the bleeding in the later models. Nice summer ride, we have a 325iT that we adore.

Only issue I've heard about on 2012 models affects only the 2-wheel drive models. The front hubs have been recalled due to concerns that they may potentially fail.

My friend who has a 2010 with over 115K miles doesn't have a problem.
