removing the front arm rest , it won't come off !!

Postby mpath » Mon Oct 15, 2012 11:33 pm

Hi there. I wonder if someone could offer some help., I've been tinkering with my pathfinder lately adding some fog lights, front and back cameras and parking sensors etc. I wanted to change my speakers as well. I appear to be stumped though at the first hurdle at what should be easy to do.I'm in the process of following a service manual which states to remove the armrest "lift upward to release clips and remove armrest". Now I've lifted up the armrest with all of my might and even tried levering it from underneath. It just won't budge and all I've managed to do is damage the plastics a little. Anyone any tips? I've spent 2 hours trying to get it out it just won't come

You have to push in on the side of it, then pull up.

Its ok thanks, Ive solved it.If anyone else has a 2012 model it seems like the arm rest is moulded on instead of clips like the older models. I pulled the door panel off completely by levering the push clips one by one. I then had a look at the armrest and its not mean't to come off and has been plastic welded on. Its not clipped on like in the manual. I presume they must have changed it in 2010 (mine is a 2012 Australia model)

Its a good thing you didn't break it haha. On my 2006 it is not to hard to take it off.
