Welcome to the forum APB, how are you attempting to engage the auto lock function?

I haven't tried, but I hope there is away to do this function. My 2002 F-150 does it, I figured that my 2006 pathfinder will do this.

As the PF has several lock functions which 'auto-lock' are you trying to engage?...ie: doors, wheels, etc...have you checked the owners manual about VDC function.

Are you talking about how on some (most?) vehicles the doors auto lock when you drive at a certain speed?

One would think that a 2006 (my 07 doesn't do it either) would auto lock as soon as you put your PF into drive or at certain speeds like many other auto manufacturers. We were told the only way we could do this is by installing an after market alarm system. I think that's just silly. Come on Nissan!

Not having the autolock feature and auto headlights have been the only problem that i have with the nissan. I am getting an aftermarket alarm to fix the lack of autolock and just learn to deal with the headlights.

Sounds like autolock...but???

Postby shv2sail » Wed Jan 28, 2009 3:34 pm

When I was test driving pathfinders I could have sworn the salesperson said it had an autolock feature (09). Now on my new Pathy - 2008 - I've noticed that when I hit the autolock speed I hear a distinctive "click" as if an autolock feature is activating...but the locks do nothing.

Is this something that has to be activated somehow...or is the "click" I'm hearing something else all together?

Anyone else notice this?

The only "auto lock" feature on the Pathy's are the auto lock feature if you unlock the door wtih the remote and do not open the door, it will relock, or if the key is in the ignition and a door is open, if you try to lock the door it will unlock.

Is the "autolock speed" you're referring to about 12mph?

Yup...12mph. I was wondering what that 'clunk' was...so it's the ABS self test? Interesting...

I remember there was a post on here that said one of the changes for the 2009 Pathfinders is the auto-lock feature once you reach a certain speed.

Looks like us 2008 and earlier owners are out of luck unless we install an aftermarket system.. unless Nissan releases a firmware or ECU update?
