Some old pics of my '99 lifted with Silent Armor tires

Postby sonnyc » Wed Jan 23, 2013 11:57 am

These are about 3 yrs old

The truck is back to stock now as I removed the lift and put back the stock springs. I'm sure I'll miss the look of it. :(

The Wrangler Silent Armor were great tires when new and worked awesome in snow, rain. But as they wore out, they became loud at freeway speed. I just replaced them with the Falken S/TZ04.

Yeah, they are probably the best tires I've had. Excellent in wet weather and awesome in snow. But damn they are expensive. I just replaced them with a set of Falken S/TZ04...quieter but not as great as the Slient Armor.

I have a set of Goodyear Silent Armors on my Jeep XJ. They are great snow tires and quieter than the old Goodyear Wrangler GSAs I had on it. The nice thing about the Silent Armor tires is they have the snow flake emblem which in some mountain passes will allow you to legally traverse roads in which the law only permits drivers that have snow chains.
