As long as the issues aren't because of worn pads (which they shouldn't be at 12000 miles), they should cover it under warranty. My personal experience: my 06 LE had front and rear genuine Nissan pads installed by the dealer when I bought the vehicle w/ 84000 mi on it. In 2000 miles, they started squeeking (pads are make by Hitachi). I cleaned them and lubed them and a few thousand miles later they started squeeking, again. My 08 SE had Akebono ACT Ceramic pads installed, front and rear, purchased from Rockauto.com and installed by myself. Akebono has been an original supplier of brake linings to Nissan for decades. With 17000 miles on the 08, I have had no squeek issues and braking performance is at least equivalent (if not better) than the genuine Nissan pads.
