Burned out backlight in your Nav/Climate control unit?

Postby AceEngineer » Wed Apr 17, 2013 11:35 am

I've got an '02 QX4 which is basically a loaded R50 Pathy. The backlight in my nav/climate control unit went out. Turned out that the cheapest solution for me was to have a custom CCFL bulb made to exactly replace the original. I'm not sure which years Pathy contained the same touchpanel, but the Nav unit in my QX4 is a Clarion unit that also controls the climate control. Pretty sure the same was available on the Pathfinder.
The reason I tell you all this? I had to buy 10 bulbs to get my custom one made. If there is anybody out there with a similar problem, PM me and I'm sure we can work something out. The replacement bulbs are complete with insulators, spacers, wiring and connector, making the repair a plug and play with no soldering.
