Question - Quick Lift Loaded and RS9000XL

Postby To0lB@G » Sun May 12, 2013 6:54 am

So I ordered and received my Quick lift loaded, RS9000XL, and spacers. Well the box was pretty banged up that the shocks came in.

My question is the RS999922 shock had a box 2x as big as the RS999938 box BUT the BOX on the 922 was OPEN and the shock inside looks identical to the 938 with the same markings. Why is there 2 different part numbers for the Quick lift loaded? Or did I possibly get the wrong shock.

Also Rancho Rebate going till end of June

there should be a left and right assembly.

not sure about the packaging. My buddy just put them on his F150 and the one of the struts he got shipped got so beat up the adjustment knob was broken off.

i just got mine from amazon, they were really good about packaging them. as far as two different serial numbers for left and right, that threw me off too but no issues.

cgray is bang on, there is a left and right strut. Part no. RS999922 is for the right side and RS999938 is for the left.

Ya I understand the 922 for the right and the 938 for the left. But both look identical. Is there a way to tell the left from the right just by looking at them

Thanks

Not that I remember, I just made sure I laid them out on the correct side, before the install, so I wouldn't mix them up.

I think the adjustment knob is located in different spots according to the bolt pattern at the top of the strut assembly. that makes the knob point outwards on both right and left.

Thanks for the replies. I will not be doing this until june as my brother is swamped with things till then and thats where my compressor is and he has the air tools so it will be easier to do it there. I will try to get some before and afters when I do this. I will also be doing front rotors and brake pads all the way around. I went with the Raybestos Rotors and Akebono pads. I will get all the parts numbers listed for everything also.

Yeah...mine got mixed up and I'm really not sure how to tell them apart. The serial numbers are identical. The struts look identical. The part number that rancho uses is not the numbet stamped on the strut. Did anyone figure out a good way to tell them apart?
