255/75/17 with 2" lift

Postby jeepkevin » Mon Aug 05, 2013 7:25 am

I didn't find much info on people running this tire size. This is the OEM size that comes on the new Jeep Wranglers and Craigs List is flooded with good used take offs for cheap. In my case, I bought a set of 5 for $250 that had a couple hundred miles or so on them. No clearance issues at full turn with the stock mud flaps still in place. I tried to flex it out with the tires fully turned as well and again, no rub issue.

With 2.5" front spacers and stock tires. Sits a little nose high.

With the modified front spacers and the new tires.

I went from 1 5/8" front spacer to 1 1/8". This was as thin as I could make the spacer. I trimmed the studs on the strut and left just a fraction of space.

I still have the upper arms contact the strut mount but only just barely. I know that isn't right and will see if I can do a small grind on the inside lip of the upper arm.
