2009 Questions

Postby BHenry » Thu May 06, 2010 7:01 am

Hey guys, first post up as this is my first Pathy.

Got the 2009 used after my 2005 X finally died of the dreaded Coolant Tranny issue, and it wasn't worth repairing from a financial standpoint.

Bought the new Pathy with 23,000 on her great shape and an awesome ride. I just have a few questions:

After driving it for the last 3 months, I have really been disappointed in the transmission, it shifts into the lower gears in my opinion way to early, and feels like I am driving a big rig going 45MPH. Has anyone else experienced this?

Tranny, does the 09' have the same coolant tranny issues? If it does, I have seen some bypass instructions...would you guys recommend this?

Thanks in advance from the Noob!

Brian

Welcome to the forum.

The tranny bypass info can be found here:

I just had my tranny and rad replaced due to the rad and tranny failure. I haven't noticed my new tranny shifting early, but it's only been a week or so. Generally, I've found the tranny to be smooth shifting without too many issues.

I would gualify this with a "don't have to worry -- yet"

Mileage on 09's may just not be high enough. I know I'm going to bypass when I do an oilchange here in the next week or so. I'm <5k miles but see no reason to wait.
