88 Pathfinder AIV problem

Hello,

My secondary air system part (number 14811M) is all rusty and rotten down.

The engine is VG30i. It's hard to find a new one and it's quite expensive. So what should I do with it? Is it necessary to keep it there or can I just remove it? Does it affect the engine somehow? (Power loss/idle problems)
Hope you can help me. It would be nice if you can give some pictures of removing it (when someone has already done it) and what to do with all those hoses connected to it?
