Since the prices for the 1 cargo cover that will work with the R51 are just too obnoxious for me, I just pieced together something that will work for me. Hit the local fabric/craft supercenter and picked up some sturdy fabric (I felt like a complete tool wandering around the store, and I certainly felt out of place, but the women were almost giddy to help me out). Cut it to size & had the gf's mom sew the seams for me. Picked up some 1/4" elastic cord from the local climbing shop & threaded it through the new cover. I'm still trying to find some better hooks for the ends & there are a few options for those. It may not look pretty, but the only time I've wanted (needed) a cover has been when out & about on travels, with the back end full of stuff. My cover will be able to stretch a lot (I intentionally designed it that way), so I can really pack in the back & the cover will keep it all hidden. Total cost was about $14.

Looks good. Whatever gets the job done, right?

Look at it this way. During your travels, the cover can be strung up between 2 trees and used as a hammock too!

By the way, you mentioned still looking for different hooks? Do you not like the ones you have pictured? I think the look good, and like how they clip on. On my cargo net, the little hooks easily come off if there isn't enough tension. This kinda makes it a PITA when attaching it. You seemed to have eliminated that problem.

Do u have a pic of the factory cargo cover for the R51? or know the part number? How much does the factory one go for? Thanks

The ones I used are too small. They will hook to the square rings behind the 2nd row, but it takes a bit of work & time. I'll either get larger ones, or just buy a cheap $5 cargo net online that has a bunch of hooks attached & just use those. I like the regular hooks, like the ones on the OEM cargo net, only because they are so quickly unhooked (I've never had one come undone yet, but I also only use it when I have a bunch of stuff to keep in place.
