"Idle Speed Control" System.

Does the truck idle fine, or does it sound off a little?

This is what the FSM says for P0507. Sure hope its not #3.

Diagnostic Procedure UBS00KB3
1. CHECK PCV HOSE CONNECTION
Confirm that PCV hose is connected correctly.
OK or NG
OK >> GO TO 2.
NG >> Repair or replace.

2. CHECK INTAKE AIR LEAK
1. Start engine and let it idle.
2. Listen for an intake air leak after the mass air flow sensor.
OK or NG
OK >> GO TO 3.
NG >> Discover air leak location and repair.

3. REPLACE ECM
1. Stop engine.
2. Replace ECM.
3. Perform initialization of NVIS(NATS) system and registration of all
NVIS(NATS) ignition key IDs. Refer to
BL-101, "ECM Re-communicating Function" .
4. Perform EC-88, "VIN Registration" .
5. Perform EC-88, "Accelerator Pedal Released Position Learning" .
6. Perform EC-88, "Throttle Valve Closed Position Learning" .
7. Perform EC-89, "Idle Air Volume Learning" .
>> INSPECTION END

don't sweat it - happens when you clean ETC throttle bodies - sadly it'll need the dealer - good news is it only takes a minute to fix - maybe 20.00

Run it, reset the code and see if it comes back before you take it to the dealer.

They will charge you way more than $20, probably enough to pay for a decent code reader, $80 - 100.

just call another dealer and ask them to do an IAVL - idle air volume learn. Tell them you don't want diag, just the relearn. If you bring in you truck warm, should take 10 min. When you get the TB chemicals into the ports of ETC bodies they aren't happy, esp if the carbon gets emulsified then falls into the ports. I'd recommend not doing it again. If you get away from the specified idle spec by a couple hundred RPM, you'll throw a code. Don't bother messing with the battery and all that, cause you'll just end up with a VDC light too.

VDC light goes away after 5-10 min. Get a code reader and it just clears the code without a battery cable pull.

My superchips reads and clears codes, and the cheapie code reader that my wife bought me for christmas 2 yrs ago does the same. it was $60CAD at princess auto.

you can clear the codes, or doconnect the battery all you want - it'll come back. Even if the light isn't on, having the idle out of spec affects alot of other stuff. Driving will turn off the VDC/SLIP lights, but it's not functionally as good as doing the steering angle and G relearns either - do it right, just go get the IAVL done by someone who isn't overcharging. Also make sure whoever did you throttle body service secured all the clamps, intake air leaks are also an issue for p0507. Don't bother trying to disconnect the TB either, or you'll end up with TPS codes and fail-safe.

'fraid not bro - gotta be nissan. Try asking at your nearest dealer to just to the IAVL - no diag. Warranty pays something like .2 or .3 so if you bring it warm and pay half an hour, you should be good. Even just walk by and ask an apprentice or something for $20 cash

Why even pay? Just do it yourself.
Idle Air Volume Learning UBS00K41

DESCRIPTION

Idle Air Volume Learning is an operation to learn the idle air volume that keeps each engine within the specific
range. It must be performed under any of the following conditions:
Each time electric throttle control actuator or ECM is replaced.
Idle speed or ignition timing is out of specification.

PREPARATION

Before performing Idle Air Volume Learning, make sure that all of the following conditions are satisfied.
Learning will be cancelled if any of the following conditions are missed for even a moment.
Battery voltage: More than 12.9V (At idle)
Engine coolant temperature: 70 - 100°C (158 - 212°F)
PNP switch: ON
Electric load switch: OFF
(Air conditioner, headlamp, rear window defogger)
On vehicles equipped with daytime light systems, if the parking brake is applied before the engine
is started the headlamp will not be illuminated.
Steering wheel: Neutral (Straight-ahead position)
Vehicle speed: Stopped
Transmission: Warmed-up
For models with CONSULT-II, drive vehicle until “FLUID TEMP SE” in “DATA MONITOR” mode of “A/T”
system indicates less than 0.9V.
For models without CONSULT-II, drive vehicle for 10 minutes.

OPERATION PROCEDURE

Without CONSULT-II
NOTE:
It is better to count the time accurately with a clock.
It is impossible to switch the diagnostic mode when an accelerator pedal position sensor circuit
has a malfunction.
1. Perform EC-88, "Accelerator Pedal Released Position Learning" .
2. Perform EC-88, "Throttle Valve Closed Position Learning" .
3. Start engine and warm it up to normal operating temperature.
4. Check that all items listed under the topic PREPARATION (previously mentioned) are in good order.
5. Turn ignition switch OFF and wait at least 10 seconds.
6. Confirm that accelerator pedal is fully released, then turn ignition switch ON and wait 3 seconds.
7. Repeat the following procedure quickly five times within 5 seconds.
a. Fully depress the accelerator pedal.
b. Fully release the accelerator pedal.
8. Wait 7 seconds, fully depress the accelerator pedal and keep it for approx. 20 seconds until the MIL stops
blinking and turned ON.
9. Fully release the accelerator pedal within 3 seconds after the MIL turned ON.
10. Start engine and let it idle.
11. Wait 20 seconds.
12. Rev up the engine two or three times and make sure that idle speed and ignition timing are within the
specifications.
13. If idle speed and ignition timing are not within the specification, Idle Air Volume Learning will not be carried
out successfully. In this case, find the cause of the incident by referring to the DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE
below.
