hey got a few questions

Postby Dtack » Wed Oct 19, 2011 9:43 am

so my girlfriends dad is giving me his 99 pathfinder v6, awesome right? i did a little research and found that one of the main problems is the swirl control valve. i wont be going to get the truck until the 3rd so im not sure how its running but im told it needs some work so my questions are simple.

what are some of the problems i should be aware of with this pathfinder?
how does the swirl control valve effect the way it runs?
i know its got some problems i have to fix, he says it will start and run but he thinks its a problem with the fuel system, is there any problems with the fuel system in these pathfinders?

i understand my questions are very vague, but im just looking for general knowledge, i will know more when i get my hands on it and get to drive it. im a member of many forums like this and always get good responses so i thank you all for your input as i know there will be good info posted.

You won't have any problems with the swirl valves as your pathfinder has a 3.3. This problems is related to automatc with a 3.5 (so 2001-2004).

as for the rest, i cannot help you but I can tell you the 3.3 are one of the most reliable engine out there (all brand included)... so enjoy your new free toy !

Any error codes? What's the problem? I had the P1130 point to this part and the issue turned out to be something else.
