Illumination of Steering wheel controls

I have the 07 Pathfinder SE with full power and leather. Does anyone know if the steering wheel controls (which controls the radio and cruise control) are suppose to illuminate? Mine don't and was wondering if the light bulb is out or maybe it just wasn't available for that model year.

I have an 08 LE and mine light up. Just a dim orange color like the rest of the controls.

mines 08SE and they light up

for some weird reason they did not light up those controls before the 08 model. wtf where they thinking?
