They are on sale for $87 on Amazon, roll on Wednesday, when I'll fit mine. Thanks everyone for a great post series.

just installed mine, about $90 from Amazon.

no T, built a bracket that bolted in the tow package to mount, took about an hour total.

is it me or is it riding about 1-2" higher? I filled to 35 psi per the guide, maybe I need to go back and read what you guys are running...

edit: yeah, everyone seems to be running 10-20 psi. For the record if you want to lift the rear about an inch, fill them to 35 psi. going outside now to lower them....

I get a pretty solid inch or so running 20psi. Levels it to the front.

Finally after a lot of talk from me, I placed an order with Amazon.com and ordered me the 60810 airlift 1000 kit. Can't wait for it to show up, install and feel the difference. :D

These things are awesome.

I tow a boat/trailer setup that weighs about 6,000lbs.

Put in 20lbs and it keeps everything level.

Was the best purchase for the Pathfinder.

Do these airbags only help for towing or is there a benefit for non towing driving? How much? I have the SE Offroad and normal road bumps always seem too jarring.

To mrfatboy:

Yes. The R51 generation Pathfinder suffers from a condition known as saggy butt. These airbags prevent the rear springs from being overwhelmed by any (or zero) load over the rear axle. I've had my factory suspension bottom-out on highway swells when I wasn't even carrying anything in my ride. It's a great upgrade to balance the ride between the excellent front and the soft-sprung rear even if you don't tow or haul.

I've noticed the saggy butt alot here recently. I seem to bottom out my shocks more than I believe I should and I hate that feeling and thud noise. I've got the air bags on order and they should be here today.

The airbags would be worth every penny even at 3X the cost. Doesn't matter if hauling a trailer or hauling ass...if mine failed I would order a new set immediately.

Mr Mayor wrote:Mine is installed finally, got around to it this morning, then took a brief 5 miler.. Like everyone else, money VERY well spent... in shock actually because I didn't think airbags could do this.. I thought I'd be bouncy (I'm at 10.2 psi (digital gauge)). Going to ramp up to 12 tomorrow for the 75 mile r/t commute, and finally, on Friday, up it to tow the quads out to the OTHER side of P/A, about 5.5hrs worth... My final test.

1) Do it, do not hesitate. This purchase imho is worth $200.00 and only spent $95.00

2) Use the "tee", and use silicone spray to get hoses onto the fittings easier.

3) There is no more 3

4) Drop the spare, trust me. Also, Jack up truck, one side at a time (set parking brake genius). It will ABSOLUTELY help you attach the hose to the actual airbag fitting when the time comes.. (You cannot trust me enough on this, I struggled quite a bit before I finally broke down and did it, and no, I did NOT remove tires)

5) "Zip" ties (electrical ties, oh$h!t ties, depends on your geo-locale) , use 'em. Nothing like doing a neat job....

I'll post a pic of the finished adapter I kidnapped from some loose parts, it looks damn near STOCK if I don't say so myself..

6) Happy Fathers Day guys.....

7) I promised my girlfriend I wouldn't type all this before our trip to Stony Point NY in about 20 minutes... ahhaa Luv u honey! And I must say, gotta love a woman who can turn a wrench! AR AR AR !!!

Mr Mayor[/i]
Do you have a picture of your front hitch installed? Would love to see it.

Thanks

Looks like I need to add this to the list of mods :? The list I told myself I wasn't going to have because I want to keep this vehicle as stock as possible

Yeah, but this mod will make your ride even better and it is not intrusive to your stock setup.
