Forgottenzone, which kit did you buy? I'm on their website and the only thing they have listed is for the 5.6 V8 Armada and Titan. Same kit you used on your 5.6 pathfinder? Any modifications?

LOL, been meaning to get to it, but just being lazy.

Yeah, would love the volant, but kool vue is alot easier on the pocket for the same concept imo.

The kit I have is the Kit for Titan / Armada. with Power core filter.
The only thing that needs to be done is on the bottom of the filter housing the whole needs to be made for the bolt to go threw at different location.
since the pathfinders original air box is bolted in a different spot then the titans, and armadas. and the accesory opening on the bottom for the ram air option comes with the cap that needs to be mounted to close the opening. which for some reason was larger by almost an inch. so i had to get a pvc rubber cap with clamp from home depot to get it pluged.
other then that everything else fit perfect, MAF sensor, and tubing outlets all fit like a glove.

Maybe the Idea is the same but the 2 systems are way different from one another. Volant is a completly sealed system, just like the factory systemthat takes the cold air from the fender at the same location wheree the oem does. except that the inlet opening uses the entire fender opening as it goes around it. as where the oem has a tube that goes inside of the fender opening. this is where the volant can take a larger amount of air if neaded. Also it uses powercore dry filter which doesnot damage a MAF sensor like the K&N can, its just as good in filtering and is good for 100,000 miles. The way the filter is made it has endless length of filtering material which takes long time to get dirty, or loose efficency, this is why it lasts for 100,000 miles
Volant makes its system from a heat resistant material, that keeps the air temperature same from the the fender to the intake manifold.

The other system is not a sealed system, it uses metal pipe that gets hot after the engine compartment gets hot. How can it be then called CAI system? Cold Air Intake?
Filter is nowhere close to the quality and filtration of Davidson power core filter. I was lucky to do some work in the factory where they produce power core filters and its amasing the process it goes threw, to be made.
Sorry for my spelling.

Can you confirm the part number you bought? Mine is an 08 5.6 I think I'm going to pull the trigger on one, assuming the install is as straight forward as you say. So, all you need to do is drill new bolt holes in the correct location on the bottom of the box and plug the ram air hole? Will it be obvious how to do this? Also, no other modifications required??

Thanks!!
