Interchangeable parts

Postby matt24 » Sun Feb 06, 2011 9:43 am

I have a 97 pathfinder and was wondering if parts from 98-04 pathfinders will fit my 97. I searched but couldn't find anything related.

pretty much everything will be interchangeable from 96 to 99.5 (yes they did a 99.5 model) .. then in 2000 they change the body style but kept the same drivetrain (3.3 with the atx10 Transfer case). Then starting in 2001 they change the engine to the 3.5l... still in these years, some of the internal parts (inside the truck) can be swapped...

What are you looking to swap exactly..

I read that most parts would but didn't want to do trial and error.

I was wanting to swap the turn dial climate controls to the digital ones found in the 98s and 99s.

it's feasable but it will cost you more than you think as you have to buy some sensors cause if I remember correctly, the automatic one uses a inside temp sensor to keep the right temp....,, It has been done on another forum I think.

Thats what I was wondering about. I didn't know if the automatic portion of the turn dial style climate control would work for the automatic climate controls. Do you know which forum is was on?

I know some people talked about it on npora, but I was unable to find a thread about the conversion... I guess if you have access to the unit for cheap then I,m sure you can figure out the sensor you need to make it functional using the fsm.... if you have to pay the full price for the unit,, i would probably talk to a nissan technician to get the full story...
