it's the magnaflow 12580. i'm having mine put on Thursday

as of now, i'm thinking of removing the stock resonator. what do you guys think about this? who has left it on and who has cut it off?
I did this setup some time back (see page two of this thread) and at first I had them leave the resonator off. It was not good at all so I had it put back on and it made it mucho better.

In any case, keep the old stuff in case you decide to reuse it.

yeah, my buddy is doing the work, so he'll hold on to it for a bit for me.

what didn't you like about the way it sounded without the resonator?

any way you can post up a sound/video clip?

It simply sounded horrible when driving...fine on startup, idle, revving, etc. but when accelerating while driving it was all moan and drone, just a big bag o' suk. Totally effen obnoxious. I took my tailpipe out the side behind the wheel as opposed to the back like stock. I can't imagine this would make a difference but I am no expert.

Putting the resonator back on knocked that down a bunch. There is still a bit of a drone around 2200RPM while driving but not too bad. I actually had a cross pipe installed recently in front of the muffler to join the two pipes and even out the pressure. This helped a bit also.

Note things will mellow over time. Now I actually get a "burble" on startup and deceleration.

As to a sound clip, I have not done that before and it is subzero here this week so prolly not.

One last comment, if you are at your buddy's when this is going on, don't rely on revving the engine to understand it, you must actually drive the Pathy.
