I wouldn't want to mount it above the screen for several reasons:
  1. No way to get the suction cups to stick, and nothing to hook the visor clip to, except maybe wedging under the headliner.
  2. I don't have the remote display, and I think the mirror would block the main display.
  3. Most important, the screen is definitely going to reduce the performance, and the height versus clear view of the rear might affect rear performance as well.
Now a question for you: Do you feel your laser jammer does anything useful? All the independent reviews I've read say that even the best provide only marginal protection.

Hello neighbors! (2 Rockaways? dang)
<-- East Hanover, NJ

I have my radar mounted hardwire. I run a Passport 8500.... they sell a remote kit which is "ok" .
Image

1 for power
1 to unit
1 for lights.

Ok there. What I plan on doing is undoing the original install, and running the "lights" and epoxy it to the side of my rear view mirror, and then running the rest of it, power and unit cables, up into the mirror covers (the cover hides wiring ON the windsheild) and run it back around and have it dissapear into the dash.

My radar detector is currently velcro'ed to the dash for easy hiding...

If ya need a pic, say the word...

EDIT= You do not want to mount the radar in the "shaded" part of the windsheild (official term is indeed shaded windsheild), it will reduce early detection. Not ALL manufacturers make the sheilds the same way though...

I have the Blinder. I've only been hit with laser once (on 287 S, near 202/206) and it saved me. It just jams the signal momentarily in order to give you a few seconds to slow down and shut the unit off.

If I understand you correctly, you're going to put the detector's lights on the mirror. Doesn't that defeat the idea of a remote display? I have the remote display so those behind me can't see I have a detector.

It does... but my issue is the remote display is mounted in a crappy place now, I want it more in my sight, I dont care about the cars behind me Ironically, 287 @ 202/206 is where I get off for work...

I've installed a laser jammer for my vehicle, then I plan to install a GPS jammer. I heard from jammerfromchina that these two devices could interfere with each other, is that real?
