Mediagate Install

Postby nissan4me » Thu May 15, 2008 10:09 pm

Hey guys, new to the forum......... Just purchased a 2008 Pathfinder. Thought I would post my Mediagate install in the Pathfinder. I don't like Ipod's, so this is my solution to add 150gb of music and video capability on the front screen. Here is the Nav2go video adder, harddrive and wiring for the equipment under the shift console. I will post up pics as the install progresses if anyone is interested..........

Everytime I see this kind of stuff, I kick myself for not getting the Navigation. Not making that mistake again, especially when we had to use the inlaws once when looking for a house.

Definitely interested to see the Nav2go....I've seen some reference to the fact that it doesn't work on 08's...not sure that's true or not. Thanks for being my guinea pig.

Hopefully it will work out and you can post some pics of the video...thanks.

Also, does the nav2go use the factory wiring harness or do you need to cut wires?

The 08 is nice, you dont need nav to ge the screen. My nuvi works 10x better than the nissan navigation. I already have the nav2go working.................. that is the easy part. Nav2go uses factory wiring harness, no wire cutting. The audio is a different story. After getting conflicting stories from PAC, I tried the NIS2 last night. Doesn't work unless you have XM already hooked up and running. I dont want satellite so I'm going to hook the audio using the MP3 port, I dont see any reason why it wont work.

Finished the install tonight. It was 107 outside today, so it was a little rough being in the garage this evening. I dont like how the control switches turned out. I tried to mount them where the 4WD switch normally goes...... the plastic was to thin to drill. I even used the mill and its just to soft. I will figure out a different mounting location later. Anyways, here are some final pics. Sorry the screen shots are a little blurry. Its dark in the vehicle, cant use the camera flash. I will look for the PN on the Nav2go. I originally ordered it for my 2007 Murano. Turned out to be the same unit. You can get the PN from them as well. Nice people on the phone.

Sorry its blurry, vid on camera sucks. When I have some time, I will try to get it on a tripod and get it in focus

Email me if you have any specific questions about doing this. [email protected]. So far I like my new Pathfinder!!!!! more mods to come

Well, the pathfinder is heading out the door soon. I pulled all the mediagate stuff out of the pathy. If anyone is interested in the Nav2go video feed to the factory screen, let me know. I will give you a great deal on the unit.

Just curious, why are getting rid of your pathfinder so soon?

Need something a little bigger. Thought it would be enough going from a fullsize diesel, didn't work out that way.
