ceramic vs. semi-metallic

Postby TheGr8Zamboni99 » Sun Mar 15, 2009 11:11 am

I have found what the differences between ceramic/semi-metallic pads are, but in the articles I have read they mention to make sure your rotors can handle ceramic pads or they will wear prematurely. I have a 2006 SE. I assume that semi-metallic are OEM. Can someone shed some more light on this for me? Thanks

I have used ceramics on my Dakota truck, and they work well, I had no problems with the rotors . The semi metallics are worse on the rotors than ceramics. I just picked up Hawk pads for my Ram, and they are ceramics. ceramics have no dust.. and do not squeel.
