I think the 2008 is set up for the 265 tire also. I talked to one dealership service department and he said he believes that is how they are set up. mine is the S model so it came with 245/75-16's on it. when they wear out i am going with the 265/75-16's.

That's the size tire I have on my stock rims right now and they work fine without rubbing. I like that DC-1 wheel too, but they don't make it in our lug pattern, which is 6 on 4.5. I think with an aftermarket wheel the tire might rub easier depending on the backspacing.

I like to use this guide for tire to gear ratio. ( remember this is a 1:1 ratio guide. ) Or Pf 4 gear is a 1:1 ratio and 5th .84 overdrive. Our final drive is 3.13:1

Pathfinder is geared for highway use so why put a 32" or larger.

hi guys....i made a thread asking the same question, but you all seem to be chatting about it here, so....
i just bought an 09 s and i was wondering if i could put on a bigger size tire than the stock tiger paws without any rubbing at all or me having to modify ANYTHING, lol.... ???

If you have the 16" wheels, then you can fit a 265/75/16 with no troubles.

Hi all,

First time post from a long time Nissan truck owner. Used to post all the time over on www.4x4parts.com forums, so maybe some of you will recognize my handle.

Just had to replace the stock Grabbers last week on my 05 4x4 LE. I went up to 275/70/17 on the stock 17" wheels. That seems to be about as big as you can run without some type of lift or making modifications to the front inner wheelwell liners. Even with this size, you will need to trim mud flaps and lower black facia on the very ends. It does fill the wheel wells nice though.

There are only 2 tire manufacturers for this size: Goodyear and Firestone. The goodyears come in about 4 different flavors, most are fairly wild offerings like MTR and Wrangler Extreems. Not very family friendly, as I still use the rig for family hauling/vacations... They make a wonderful tire, Wrangler Silent armor, which I looked at in great depth, but couldn't justfy the $40 more per tire over the Firestone Destination AT; which I purchased.

The 275/70/17 tire is 32.2" tall as posted on the www.tirerack.com site.

As a side note: I'm sure this has been talked about before but I thought it would be relevant to this discussion. The speedo is off on the LE. From the factory it was about 4% off. When the speedo would say 60mph, I was actually traveling at 58mph. Now that the tires have been swapped out for larger ones, I have reduced that margin down to roughly 2.5%. Now, at an indicated 50mph on the speedo, I am now traveling a little over 51mph. at an even 60mph, I'm actually going about 61.5mph It should be progressive meaning that at an indicated 100mph on the speedo, you would be traveling about 103.

Real quick, anyone have a spare TPMS from an 05 I can buy? I need one for the spare tire that also needs to be swapped out for a larger tire now that the other 4 have been done.

I already took off those stupid mud flaps

im rocking 265 / 75 / 16 they look at lot better than the 245/75 stock it came with ..

my Question does that size tire fit on the spare under the car can it still be jacked up ..because they do look big

Easily. You can even go one size larger than that for a spare.

It's hard to say. Do you have the stock wheels? Any other mods other than taking the mudflaps off and adding the 2" lift?

Here is what I can tell you based on my observations with the size I have and the rest being stock. The wheel well liners will most likely come into contact at some point with the tire. With the 2" lift, normal driving would seem to be fine, but if you take it off road, you may have problems. When the front wheels articulate (pushed up into the wheel well) you lose your 2" of lift on that side that is compressed. I would guess that you would rub a little bit.

Based on my truck, I can push the inner wheel well liner back towards the passenger compartment at least an inch. If there was a way to keep it back there, I would say you wouldn't rub in that spot at all.

I am no expert, but in my opinion you should be able to run that size tire with a 2" lift on stock wheels and only rub under the condtions I outlined.

If, you can find a way to keep the black plastick liner pushed back and secured, I would speculate that it should be fine. I don't know what it looks like behind the liner, but you may be able to modify it (cut it) to gain the room you need. Just make sure to protect the area with some type of undercoating or spray on bed liner material.

I will take a picture of my set up and post it so you can see how close mine is.

Here is the space between the inner liner and the tire. You can see my quick hack job on getting the mudflap out of the way. I plan to clean it up later this week.

Not much space in there; a dime will not fit with out rubing the tire and the liner. I will take a better picture tonight with scale so you can see it.
