22x9.5 rims, Wheel adapter, 265x35R22 tires, Possible?

Postby jyrki69 » Mon May 25, 2009 2:17 pm

Hello.
I just bought my Nissan Pathfinder 2.5 DCI LE AT 2008mod.

Im currently looking for rims, I know im going to put 22" on the ride. And I want them all black, like the KMC XD series. Im going to put some 265x35R22 tires on the rims. Im also planning on lowering the car, probably going to go for the H&R springs , Drop F/R 1.9/1.8.

The only thing is, i've probably sent over 40emails around looking for some XD series 22x9.5 rims with 6 x 4.5 bolt pattern, everyone says 6-12weeks delivery time, maybe even longer, because they are not standard. They are available many places with 6x5.5 bolt pattern.

Then I came around some wheel adapter, 6 x 4.5 to 6 x 5.5. 1.25-1.30" thick.

The rims im on the fence on buying now is some KMC XD Rockstar 22x9.5 6x5.5 offset: +38mm, Backspace 6.75 in

I don't know much about wheels so I need your help.
I live in Norway, and im going to order from USA, I dont want to order something that won't fit.

Spec plans:

Nissan Pathfinder 2.5 DCI LE AT 2008mod
Wheel adapters, 6x4.5 to 6x5.5, either 1.25" or 1.30" thick
22x9.5 XD Rockstar rims 6x5.5 +38mm offset, Backspace 6.75 in
265x35R22 tires
Lowering springs, Drop F/R 1.9/1.8

Will they fit, will the rims stick outside the fenders? Will they rub? The Rockstar rims has pretty high offset, that will help them not to stick out that much right?

I know 22" and 265x35R22 tires have been done before, but not with wheel adapters. According to this one owner, you will feel the bumps a bit more, but its fantastic to drive.

Any help is much appreciated.
Thank you

Robert

From past experience I would not do a wheel adapter kit with big wheels. Too much weight and stress on the suspension and hub assemblies. Just search for the correct bolt pattern or even find some blanks and have them drilled. You will get what you pay for if you are trying to cut corners.
