Did Some mods to the Pathfinder

Postby njpathy » Mon May 25, 2009 5:49 pm

So let me know what you think. i got tired of looking like all the other stock Pathys so I did some stuff. Removed stock roof rack and made some custome feet and attached the safari rack directly to the truck.(might get the bracket to mount the spare on top) Some Hella 1000 fogs for the front. 2" PRG mini lift. BFG all terrains 285/70/17 mounted on XD Addict rims (only had to do some minor trimming of the plastic and fender). It's even better looking in person

Looks good!

What plastic did you have to trim? Was it the Inner fender plastic? Just wondering.

Looks good! 2 things. How do you have your offroad lights attached, as in just to the plastic bumper or to steel framing behind? Secondly, please don't put your spare on top.

Oh, and I agree that the plastic steps need to go :D

Great Job. Those mods really look great. I love the roof rack.

Two Questions:

1. Could you post pictures of the custom mounts you made for the roof rack?

2. What is the model number of the Defender rack?

Thanks.

Thanks guys. The plastic I trimmed was the inner wheel well. The fogs are mounted with a liong bolt to the metal behind the plastic bumper. The side steps will eventually go. Im thinking maybe sliders from shrockworks. The basket came from 4wheelparts.com I think the sku was ORU35604, it's 6'x3.5'. I will try to get some pics up of the mounts soon. They are just some 1x1 square tubing welded together and capped off. I used the factory rack feet to know wher to drill the holes.

Just some 5-6 inch bolts from home depot with some spacers for between the plastic bumper and the metal

Looks great! Did you install the PRG mini-lift yourself? If so, how difficult was it? How does the Pathfinder handle with the lift and new tire combination?

lI did do it myself and it was very easy. It handled the same qhenni put the lift on but when I got the new wheels it handled a little rougher. It actually feels more like a truck now. Since they are all terrain that aren't that bad especially with road noise. Actually all my noise now comes from the safari rack. I think it seems even louder because I got the six footer and it hangs over the moon roof a little

Thanks NJPathy. I'm entertaining the idea of the PRG kit, but am leaning towards the complete OME suspension... too many decisions to make! :D
