Thoughts for LED project

Postby DJLittleWonder » Mon Jun 08, 2009 4:56 am

I just finished my LED conversion. Turn signals (white/amber switchback for the front), reverse lights, license plate, interior; all white. Pictures coming soon.

I'm think about doing something like the Audi LED's for the front. Just not sure where I would put it. If anyone has an opinion, I'd love to hear it.

Here's a link with a DIY: http://forums.vwvortex.com/zerothread?id=3952827

I think they look pretty good inside the headlight. My first though would be to do the inside verticle and lower horizontal of each headlamp. Like this.

I have no experience with these so LED's inside reflector headlamps may get drown out. You may have to have projectors to make LED's in the headlamp work.

^^^^ that will look very good. the only problem will be resealing the headlamps.

I've seen plenty of people mod their headlamps so I don't think resealing is an issue if you know what you're doing. What I think will be challenging with the Pathfinder is finding a place to mount the LED's within the headlamp. There is no mounting location across the bottom portion of the lamp. You would have to add either a platic or metal piece that holds the LED's. That's the difference I see between the examples shown in the VW link and our's.
