265/65 R17 stock wheels/tires

Postby Sven1olaf » Wed Jul 22, 2009 10:17 am

Is there a reason why the SE 4x4 comes with 265/65 R17 setup? Is it to accommodate larger breaks?

I'm gonna get my daily drive/work horse some new shoes and just want to see how wiggle room I have on tire/wheel setups. I would like to stay with the 17" wheel but throw on some larger tires.

Nissan just wanted to use a difrent size tire to confuse us internet Nissan lovers. j/k. The normal s model comes with 245/75 r16. the Se comes with 265/65r17 and the V8 comes with 265/60r18 and the Off road comes with 265/75r16. There all very close to each other

S trim. tall and skinny tire. No real look added. 30"x 9" on 16"
SE trim : tall and wide. Adds the more agressive look. 30.9"X 10.5"r17
SE O/R: taller and same with as SE but bigger side wall 31"x10.5 r16
V8 same size as SE but smaller sidewall for larger rim. 30.9"X10.5 r18.

Nissan kept the tires with in a 3-4% difference because one speedo calibration will work on them all.

Im in the market for new tires on my 08 Se with 30k. Im going to go to a 265/70 R17. Its the same size that comes on the SE O/R but with a R17". We will loose the side wall thinkness big get the same O.D.

thanks Captain

i was thinking of getting the same setup you are talking about the 265/70 r17s for the wheels but have been to 3 tire/wheel shops and having a super hard time finding some decent wheels to wrap the rubber around.

the shortened lug bolt seems to be the issue.

i just got back from a guy that was recommended to me, he called 3 different suppliers and in the end i had 3 different wheels to choose from. 3 wheels in a 17" and the same three in an 18". how can this be?

all i want are some moderately aggressive, matte black wheels, preferably in 17", but am willing to kick around the idea of having to go to 18" to get some variety.

there has to be some more availability out there. im off the intertubes to find out.

sorry for the bump, but i just got off the phone with a guy from ProComp and he said that he only makes 1 wheel that fits the 08 Pathy.

the pxa 7089 series wheels.

these are pretty nice looking wheels and i am definitely going to have to see how much they are.

*i have no idea why the image link didnt work, but u can follow the page line to see.

Fixed the link for you C.C.

they will compliment the pathfinder nicely. is black the only color they have for that rim. a polished 22 inch will look sweet on the pathfinder.
