Fuel gauge issues

Sigh...seeing exactly this same problem too, 52.6K miles, doh...

Just checked last night, and have codes P0463 and P0448, the former seems to confirm the sender problem, anybody know what the latter is?

I can't seem to find this part number, or a sending unit that would correlate, on http://www.courtesyparts.com -- could someone post the complete part numbers we need...or just link?

So....I filled up my tank last night...and the gauge seems to work again...

Trust me on this....i have the inside track.....ZZ00A, not ZC00A. Just be patient, nothing will blow up because of it, but you'll benefit from having an updated part - call them if you want, they may not have it in stock yet. I'm letting the forum know before most technicians/dealers know....

i know these have been coming up often, so i figure a heads up might save lots of guys from having to do it again needlessly, especially if they're paying out of pocket.

when is this updated part supposed to be out? I have had my fuel sending unit replaced twice now and waiting to take it back to the dealer for a third time.

updated part should have been out for months now - the parts #'s have also been updated, so all should be the updated part - unless your dealer had some really old stock sitting around - regardless of part #

The updated fuel level sending unit is 25060-ZZ00A and the oring is 17342-EA000, I work for Nissan and we change a lot of these. If you can't find them on courtesy website, www.nissanparts2u.com has them too!

I ordered mine from Courtesy 2 weeks ago. I'm just waiting for the weather to improve to install the new one. If you order the kit, it comes with the new sender and o-ring for the fuel pump. I also ordered new EBC brakes from autoanything. My garage is too small for my truck, so I have to make time at the in-laws to install it all. At least the brakes look a whole lot easier to do than on my previous saab.

If the fuel sender craps out completely do I need to worry about the fuel pump going as well?

I went for 3 months with a bad fuel level sending unit and had no issues with the pump.

I'm wondering about this as well. My sensor is doing the same thing, and I usually go by how many miles i've driven anyway instead of what the gauge says, so I see no need to fix this right now. The check engine light comes on, but goes off after about 45 miles of driving on the tank, so that doesn't bother me. I wonder if over time this could have a harmful effect on the pump?
