Fuel System Service

Postby AZRoushStang » Fri Sep 18, 2009 7:55 am

So every time I go to the dealership, they of course always try to sell me on getting the fuel system service done.

I've never been quite sure if those are more gimmicks, or if they actually have some benefit.

I have 74,500 miles on my 05 Path and have never had one done. My father-in-law says he gets it done every 30,000 miles and does notice an improvement in idle and gas mileage.

I was wondering if anyone had any general thoughts on this?

I know a lot of people proclaim love for the seafoam stuff, but that sounds like a little more work than I want to do myself.

Any thoughts?

Thanks

a fuel system cleaner every now and then will help out especially if you are running lower octane fuel. If you run Premium all the time then I wouldn't really worry too much with it, but yea every 30K miles will help.
