For some of the beach and trails here, I think it's time to go to a mud tire and not an AT type. (Although, if I can find the BFG AT KO's here, I my be swayed).
I'm trying to determine all my tire options so when I head to the local shops, I'll know what I can work with for sizing, since some US brands are hard to find here or are 2x the price, but lots of Toyo and Hankook shops.
Stock SE is 265/70-16 (30.6x10.4)
SE OR's have 265/75-16 (31.6x10.4)
Has anyone tried at 275/70-16 (31.2x10.8 ) yet? It's not as tall as the SE OR shoes, but obviously a tad wider. I'd love the 285's, but the most I'll get is a 2" suspen lift (Thanks XD9!!!)and I don't want to deal with the rubbing of the 285. Then again, all this is out the window if I get new rims with a diff off-set, but for now, only tires.

Everything will be OK in case of 275/70-16 - no questions. This is the same as 275/65-17 but even with 275/70-17 (265/75-17) nothing to worry about. Problems with rubbing you can expect only if you're going to another one size up - 285/70-17, everything below is our acceptable sizes. Of course better to have a more clearance (suspension or body lift). If you often drive off-road - buy biggest ones, otherwise buy 265/75-16.

I had some trail fun today, never had to hit 4x4. Just popped off the VDC and powered through the mud. Man, my current ATs stink in gooey mud!

Here's where I got to, all dirt/mud/jungle trails to the top of the hill, and not via the cut grass sections, there's cliffs in front of each of them where it drops off.
