Home Made Bumper/Bull Bar

Postby VenezuelanPath » Sun Nov 22, 2009 10:08 pm

Hello people,

Im planing on doing a Home Made Bull Bar for my Pathy, I have the 05 Off-Road.

Well my idea is that because I dont have a lot of money but a lot of free time, I could somehow build a Bull Bar. I have never made something like this, but I have friends that kinda do.

My objective is doing something like this, but without the tubing, just the bumper:

I dont think it is impossible to do, what really bothers me is the design, and the mounting parts for the car.

The design part because I want to do something with the less welding and just one long metal sheet bended to make the front part.

So well, I am just wondering if any person here in the forums can help with the completion of this project.

Thanks,

Pedro.

Hello, well no one has comment, I think this project is a bit difficult.

Updates, I have investigate a lot, and now Im doing my design, so far I will attach the bumper to the frame just like the ARB's do.

ARB actually takes into account the crumple zones around the bumper in case you hit something from the front, the air bags still deploy,,so how you plannin on tackling this problem..??cos i dont think this easy..
Also what type of material are you plannin on making it out from??

Nyways good luck..keep us posted

FYI the front airbag sensor on the Pathfinder is actually mounted on the center lock support on the radiator support. The crumple zones on the pathfinder are actually manufactured into the frame of the pathfinder and not the bumper. I would not recommend removing the front bumper re-inforcement bar.
