Bi-Xenon Headlight Kit & Projector Headlight Question(s)

Postby 2006R51MD » Sun Mar 21, 2010 5:13 pm

I have read most of the threads on here regarding the Bi-Xenon Kits.

It seems like the pricing for the kits is all over the place. Anywhere from $50 up to $400+.

For those that have actually installed these kits, which one would you recommend getting? I was looking at the Philips kit for around $200.

Has anyone had any luck with the cheaper "plug and play" kits?

Other than the "projector" headlights with those "halo" rings, are there any other projector headlight housings for the R51 that look more like stock?

I used the cheaper kit in my 05 Pathfinder, and have been happy. I went with the Raptor Kits for both Fog and driving lights from DDM Tuning. cannot complain at all with the install process. Very simple on the wiring. Just got to make sure that the hi/lo wires are in the right place. for some reason they were backwards in the plug, so had to swap them around. Sometime in the next couple days I'll try to take some pictures with them on.

Did you get the 35w or 55w and what color/temp did you get?

FYI - there are tons of fake philips kits out there, be cautious!

Does the R51 need Error Code Eliminators installed with the HID kits?

no.

If you're going bi-xenon, make sure the ballasts and projection of the bulbs works on your truck....seems on ours, many don't. U.S. truck?

Yes it is a US vehicle. I ordered the headlight and fog light kit last night. We will see how/if they work....and if they work correctly.
