Another option to painting is powdercoating the wheels. It's more $$$ to do it, but the finish is much more durable. You will also ge a very glossy finish if desired. Here's some pics of my wheels I took last week while test fitting some tires. The wheels are American Racing Trench style.Budrbean wrote:Anybody have any pics of a black pathfinder with a blacked out grill? I like the looks of the way everyone is painting theirs, but I cant seem to find any pics on a black one. Would like to do the wheels but Im afraid it will scratch right off perimeter of the rim when I get tires changed.
Here's the pics I have so far, but they are not too good. I have not installed them yet because I'm still looking for tires. I went to a tire shop down the street and had them mount a worn out 265/70-16 and a 285-75-16 to see how they fit. I'll post more pics when I get some tires, soon hopefully.macbell7 wrote:Hey richard can you post some more pics with those wheels on. I've been wanting to see what the black Trenchs look like on a pathfinder, just can't find any pics on the net. You ever thought about getting some black lug nuts?
Yeah, that does make a difference. Good luck and post some pics when you are done.Budrbean wrote:Yeah it would be the proper way to go, but I just dont wanna spend the money and endure the hassle. A local company quoted me $450 for all 4 wheels with a 2-3 day turn around. It would just be a lot of hassle considering I dont have another vehicle to drive.
