The whole job was covered by my extended "Preferred" warranty. For the second car in a row, the warranty has paid for itself and more.
However, a warning to others. In my case my extended warranty shows up on a different screen in their computers, so when they start a job, they always say that it's not covered by my 60K Powertrain. I then tell them to flip to the next page, and they say, "Oh, nevermind, it's covered." Before he did that, though, he brings me over to the desk and tells me he is trying to figure out how to cover it with my powertrain warranty (the truck has 55K on it). He tells me that the readiator caused the transmission to fail, so it wouldn't have been covered under my warranty. Such a load of crap!!! If the wall to the radiator rotted out and leaked into the tranny cooler, couldn't you say the tranny cooler rotted out and leaked into the radiator? Wouldn't you consider a part that circulates transmission fluid, to be a part of the transmission?
Anyway, be forwarned if you are going to try and get it covered under a powertrain warranty, that you may be up for a fight.
Truck drives great now.
