Yup, I bet it is too.

I once had a 1999.5 VW Golf Turbodiesel have the turbo shaft fail and cause a complete engine failure past the normal warranty period. The fine print of the manual said that ONLY in California, and ONLY the Diesel model, the turbo was considered part of the emissions hardware and therefore had an extended warranty. Soooo dodged a bullet that time...

I *think* a standard resistor will not do. You need an O2 simulator with what amounts to a variable rate resistor to truly fool the OBD and not toss codes. At-least based on my previous research of the subject. Since the O2 sensor kick out a range of values. But who knows.

Nissan replaced the "bank 1 three way Cat." (part # 208A2-EA20A) I had 54K miles on the truck when it went bed. I wish I knew what the condition of it was now. I wonder if it had disintegrated like yours?

I asked Nissan if the other cat was bad (same mileage same wear?) and they said they couldn't touch it unless it failed.

I believe the warranty on the Cat's are 8 years or 80k miles.
