tranny fluid clear?

so i go to check the tranny fluid and its clear and golden like oil??? no red tint at all. i have 4 qts of s-matic that i was gonna put in by im still not sure why its not red

On the dipstick it may look clear. If you rub some off onto a paper towel it should have a red tone to it.

mine is the same. when I asked the service tech he told me that was normal for the J-matic.

Negative,

Matic J is red. I just got through draining and refilling my tranny for the fourth time in a week. Finally I think I got most of water out of atf. Dipstic now looks normal. True; looks light red on dipstick but red on white cloth or paper towel.

on the dipstick, my Matic J is light red/pink
i also poured some from a quart bottle of Matic J that i have on hand for top-offs, and in a clear glass container, it is red
