Trans temperature light

Postby marvmmarv » Tue Oct 12, 2010 5:09 pm

My 07 LE has the A/T OIL TEMP warning light. I have never seen it come on when towing (it works under test) and the owners manual says little about it. For those who have the light, does it ever come on under load? Does anyone know what temperature activates it?

Are you :? the light comes on during the start up of the engine-this is a test... and will only come on during driving when the transmission overheats. I would say it would take alot for the transmission to overheat.

Per the manual, this is not one that comes on during startup. The only time I have seen it on is during the combination meter self diagnosis.

I don't think the light is of any use, because some ppl had their transmission well past 200 degrees without the light coming on.

That's just what I am afraid of. What I want to know is: is this a "be careful" light or is it a "you just cooked your transmission" light.
