Rear Tailgate Window

I have just acquired a Pathfinder, I am having trouble with the rear hatch window, I cannot get it open. I have checked and double checked the manual.

Is it easy to replace the catch, has anybody had experience of this? :(

what year are we dealing with?

In the UK it is an 07 plate (2007)
