2004 pathy with vibration issue

Postby woolly » Mon May 09, 2011 8:46 am

getting vibration when driving, seems to lessen when coasting, had u-joints checked and 4 wheel alignment, no luck. Tires balanced. Seems to be in the drivetrain. any suggestion on what next to check?

does it feel like you're losing control with the vibration?

could be your shocks.

how did you have your ujoints checked ?? because mine was causing a vibration and there was no lose in them, but when I changed them, I saw that they were 'cupping' so the needle bearings were starting to be square.... so you cannot be sure unless you remove the drive shaft and really have a feel for them... just eye looking or small movement while the shaft is still attached is not enough....

Bought pathy to machine shop to check balance on drive shaft and was told the u-joint are the cause of the vibration, having them replaced today, will see if this fixes problem
