I haven't gotten to the carputer portion of my project yet, I did install my rear cam with the NAVTOOL device and love it!!

here;s a picture of the camera in action lol....

The thing I am hung up on is how to handle power up and shutdown for the carputer. I want to be be able to put it somewhere and have it turn on automatically and shut down automatically with out any intervention.

i hate to bring up an old topic but i want to install this into my car and had a few concerns.

How exactly is the touch screen digitizer installed? I'm having troubles figuring out where the ribbon goes that comes out of the digitizer and where do all those cables go from the adapter?

Could anyone let me know how I remove the console trim? I just got my Pathfinder I've had a quick peek and nothing obvious. I didn't want to force anything and break any clips.

I want to use my laptop with some APRS software for mapping and tracking amatuer radio users.. as well as for the interface to my radio :D

Wondering if anyone has tried porting the Sprint EVO HDMI out to the Pathfinder Screen. I have the nav2go....and there's an HP HDMI to VGA converter that may work. Would need to splice the Audio somehow tho. Anyone try this yet? Would love to just use the EVO as it's pretty much a computer

all you need is the 7" color screen...

now that android powered tablets are getting so cheap.. i would prob go that way if i was starting fresh... you can get them for as little as $100..

Right.. not specific to the model with the screen like mine.. and I don't have the cubby box at the top either :?: . ... and mine is a manual and not auto transmission..... BUT apart from that

kind of covers my question above

[edit]

Ahhh.. heres a manual with out the cubby.. and a retrofit of another screen / nav.. maybe of interest.
