Washer fluid light, AINT empty!?!

Postby Mr Mayor » Mon May 16, 2011 6:36 am

This morning my washer fluid light came on and goes out if I cycle the key.

IS the sensor IN the bottle, meaning I need to replace it? OR is there some sort of loose connector or corroded connector I can repair?

((Honestly, I'll have 80K sometime today on her, high for an 08 , and this washer thing, and the iPod aux jack thing are the ONLY issues I've truly had.))...((and my FOREVER leaking back window, which I've given up on))

Famous last words?

YOU GO NISSAN!

Mine stopped working a year or so ago. It doesn't come on. I use tap water in there and figured its gummed up. It's so minor that I don't consider it a problem. I never though of pursuing it. But I'll be interested to see what you find.

Oh I'll get it... OCD w/ warning lights, no doubt. Once found a nicked wire tripping an ABS light on a customers car, after 5 visits to the dealer.. 10 minutes w/ a spray bottle and voila', discovered, and fixed.

Sounds like the sensor, but funny that it's acting up and your vehicle is only 3yrs old.

I noticed you just put in the Stillen....any chance you jostled something while putting it in?
It's been awhile since I've had a look under the hood but isn't there a fuse panel near the intake?

Seems kinda odd that your iPod connection and wiper warning light all stopped working around the same time.

Just a though! 8)

Opposite sides of the motor.. so doubtful.. I topped it off yesterday (took maybe 3/8ths of the bottle, so I know is was over 1/2 full...but the light DID go out, and stayed out for my commute...

Unsure what type of sensor it is.... does this thing measure level? weight?

Anyway, it's out for now, if it means keeping it full, and the repair was free, so be it.

No the sensor in the washer bottle only measures level.
