exhaust problem

Postby NYPathfinder » Mon Aug 08, 2011 1:45 pm

On a recent adventure into the local spot by my house. I tried to go over something I shouldn't have and now I have a hole in my exhaust. The hole is in the big canister closest to where the exhaust ends. Has anyone ever deleted this with a straight pipe? Or put a different one in? Sounds like absolute crap right now.

time for a new muffler. you should be able to get one cheap if you are re-using the existing piping.

don't straight pipe it.

by the way... your lucky you weren't a few feet over or else you would have stuck whatever went through you muffler through your gas tank instead.

Straight piping it did cross my mind. I may just pick up a different muffler other then stock. My.buddy has an aftermarket one on his xterra and it sounds pretty good.

if you want a mean/nasty tune try a glasspack, maybe a Flowmaster 50.

turbos repond well to open exhaust.
