I agree. I just installed the 200lb struts tonight and they're perfect. A light tug, step back and the lift gate opens to full extension.SteveFinn wrote:I just installed 200 lb struts last night (9416K148). I wouldn't go any bigger than the 200 lb struts.
Check out the post on the AirLift 1000 qne you will find all the info and pics you need.pandarturo88 wrote:....... BTW if anyone has installed the airlift 1000 I'd like to know where you mounted the inlet hoses, also if you mounted them on your 7 pin what width did you use. Thanks ahead of times. ONE
Check out Advance. I am looking for some liftgate struts as well and this I probably where I will get them. I've used their struts before on my Grand Cherokee's and they worked well.pandarturo88 wrote: So, I was wondering if anyone know any other companies besides OEM that I can order/go to for this strut.
I placed an order for some this weekend. Most likely the wrong ones, but I'll try them out & post here as soon as they come in.NVSteve wrote:I still can't figure out how powerful of a strut I should get.
I have. There is even a thread on thenewx site that lists parts needed and instructions. Just isn't a big priority for me, otherwise I would have done this mod already. I did see a post recently on that same Xterra forum where someone's hood ended up getting dented because of the gas struts. I don't remember the details as I just glanced at it, but it seems like he installed them the same way as everyone else.volvite wrote: By chance, has anyone thought about adding lifts to the hood?
