Odometer issues

hello everyone,

driving my wife's pathy yesterday and i noticed the odometer turned oooooo, heard a beep and dash light dimmed simultaneously and then went back to normal. this happened 4 times within a 15 min time span. has anyone seen this before?

I have had my gauges and odometer go wacky before, but never while driving. For me, both times it was battery related...once one of the cells in the battery was dry and the other was where I let corrosion build up too far on the terminals.

Check your terminals and clean if needed.

i installed a new battery about a little over 6 months ago and i try to keep the battery terminals clean every time i do an oil change. maybe a cell is starting to go bad on the battery? thanks for your reply!

battery negative cable clamps frequently do not tighten securely to the post
even though the bolt is tightened, cable may twist on the post
