HID's again..

Postby Brit » Thu Mar 06, 2008 6:12 am

Here are a couple of shots of the HID's fitted to my Pathfinder. I know they are not great photo's, but access is severely limited in there. These are right-hand drive one's.

I also have a PDF of the wiring diagram if someone can tell me how to attach it to a post, I'm not great with technology...

Nope, European models were available with xenon as at-least an option if not standard.

E-mail me the pdf and I'll host it up. blink_32atyahoodotcom

Come on Svein, pull out one of those headlights and get me some shots of the back of the assembly, the cavity and any wiring plugs. :) When you're bored and have time of course.

But that picture is or a reflector headlight housing, just like we have...

Am I missing something?

Do the OEM HIDs not use a projector? How much are you guys paying for these things again?

And how is this really any different that just running the retrofit kits?

So what's the deal here?

You americans don't have the xenon option? But the reflectors are quite the same?

How do I get the headlights out?

Wouldn't a normal aftermarket bixenon-kit do the same (and maybe be a little bit stronger?)

well, the biggest difference between halogen and HID on US cars of almost any make and model is that the halogen lights use a reflector housing, and the HIDs use a projector housing.

But it looks to me like the euro Pathfinder HIDs are just using standard housings with HID hardware. They probably have leveling motors too, right?

The bulb shield thing does look a bit different, but unless the differences are that subtle, the housings and reflectors look otherwise the same.

Okay, there are some differences, just not what I would have expected... trying to find a good picutre to compare. If it wasn't raining and 35 degrees, I'd go outside and snap a pic of mine...

Beat me to it. Xenon is not an option in the states on the Path. The Murano's have Xenon and they are the projector style.

This is the first time I paid close attention to the actual reflector housing as its the best picture I've seen of the lamps. I would be interested in seeing first hand light output of these compared to the projector style on the Murano. Up until now I had been assuming they were projector style.

Leveling motors yes..

If someone explains me how to get them out, I'll snap some shots this weekend :)
