Set initial timing '97 Pathfinder

Postby Gdubyacobb » Mon Nov 26, 2012 5:19 am

After my timing belt breaking and putting in a new distributor I need to set the initial timing to 15°BTDC.
To do this I need to place the computer in "self diagnostic mode". The manuals aren't spelling this out to me in plan English, any help out there?
Thanks and yes google is my friend, just thought I'd check here too.

Never done this on a nissan, but on my 98 honda civic, there was a plug under the dash that needed to be jumpered to put it into diagnostic mode. Used a paperclip.

I would imagine its something similar on yours.

Sorry I can't be more help.

Yep, that seems to be the case. Except there nothing to jump, you have to pull the PCM down from under the dash and put it into diagnostic mode.
Thanks!
