My brake pedal travels at least half way to the floor before I get good brake engagement. Brakes are good and stop the truck and my boat trailer just fine. This has developed over time - the pedal was always firm and engaged nicely.
New brake booster within the last two years, no leaks from wheel cylnders or master cylnder. Pads, shoes, rotors all relatively new. No buldging brake lines. No fading away of the pedal when holding the truck in place at a light or some such. Mechanics cant find an obvious problem....

There is a rod that connects the brake booster and master cylinder. The mechanic adjusted that rod (I assume the amount of travel) and presto! The brake pedal feels great.
I dont have any more detail than that, other than it took him 15 minutes to figure it out and fix it. The local dealer, by the way, couldndt even diagnos the problem, let alone fix it.
