Strange bump/metal banging when braking - every so often.

Hey,

I have 08' and I noticed that sometimes, when I brake, there is a strange bump feeling from the breaks.. I think it's when the abs kicks in but not sure. Almost feels like I'm going over metal bars that are hitting the break paddle...

Btw- what is that black mesh that is embedded in the windshield? Looks like defroster but not sure.... Want to decide on a easy pass placement.

What you're describing is, indeed, the ABS. When active, your brake pedal feels like you're driving over rumble strips. It should only be happening when the truck is sliding.

That mesh (the black dots) are there mainly for decorative purposes -- to hide the adhesive that holds the glass in place. Some say it's also there for shading, though I think that's a secondary purpose. My EZPass is mounted behind that black stuff and works totally fine. :)

The ABS will also do a self test when you first start driving after a start-up.
