Diablo Tuner

Postby Mr Mayor » Mon Jun 16, 2008 5:56 pm

Through some odd channels I have the opportunity to own and test a Diablo Tuner.

Does anyone have any experience here?

Back when I was in the world of the Ford Focus' (Focii?), Diablo chips were a mainstay. I think mostly the turbo'd guys used them for sure. But the NA guys used them too. Good results IIRC. If you can own it for reasonable cost or have vehicles to use it on I'd go for it.

Yeah a neighbor has one in her F250Deisel, loves it, also a few Fomoco guys in 'Stangs use it with great success... unsure what they can do for Path/Front/etc..

You probably don't want to get sucked into spending any cash on this. AFAIK the Nissan Pathfinder/Frontier/XTerra VQ40 ecu code hasn't been cracked to be remapped yet and any nice Nissan dealership senior mechanic will advance or retard your timing by up to 2° either way whenever you want and the ecu will play catch up to optimize the fuel mix.
