Any problems switching to 16x8 wheel?

Postby dspencerco » Sun May 18, 2008 8:28 pm

I've got an '06 Pathfinder SE with the stock 16x7 rims and am looking to switch over to a Rockcrawler steel wheel. Problem I'm having is that I can't find the wheel I want in 16x7 with my lug pattern. Several places have a 16x8 wheel in my lug pattern. I know my tires can be mounted on either a 7 or 8 but would any of you foresee issues with clearance or rubbing, etc.? The back spacing difference is only 1/2" between the two.

Thanks,
DS

Welcome to the forum Dspencerco. :)

I don't think 16x8" would be a problem as the PF comes standard with wider 17x7.5" and 18x8" but the only way to tell for sure with any particular wheel might be to install them and see what happens.

How did you go with this?

Did you manage to get the 16x8 wheekl and tire combo to fit? What tires did you use? We see a lot of the Cooper ST tires here in Aus...
