Jack up the vehicle to remove the weight off the wheels. Release the tension from the bars via the anchor assemblies on the crossmember: loosen the locknut and then turn the torsion bar adjustment bolt counter-clockwise to remove the tension. Once the tension is removed, remove the three nuts on the torque arm at the front of each torsion bar and slide the dust boot back. Use a pry bar to disengage the torque arm from the splined shaft on the control arm and slide it back down the bar. At this point, you should be able to remove the torsion bar. Keep in mind that the torsion bar adjustment affects the camber adjustment, so you will need a wheel alignment after the new bars are installed.

Installing the torsion bar is critical and be aware there is a left and right side. My suggestion would be you consult a service manual or maybe even check on YouTube for some vids on the subject, if any. NissanHelp.com does have some downloadable service manuals in their "knowledge base" section, but I'm not sure if they have the suspension chapter for WD21's. If you don't find it under the 1993 MY, try 1995 as it's the same info. Nico Club's website also has downloadable service manuals. IIRC, they download in .rat format, so you will need a program like WinZip to extract them.
